New wishlist website launched

29th November 2006

Sorry for the lack of posts recently but I was working towards the launch of a new website. We launched yesterday so look forward to some posts and comments surrounding what I learnt while building the site. But first, the site itself.

The site is called One Wish List. It’s a universal wish list site. That is, a site for creating and managing wishlists. The items in the wishlists may be from anywhere – online stores, offline stores, or wherever. Your friends can promise gifts from your list, thus preventing other friends from buying the same thing, and then buy them from anywhere, including the place you found the item if you found it online (a link is provided). The site has all sorts of extras for managing lists of your friends and telling people about your wish list. It also has a tool, in the form of a bookmarklet, for easily adding items to your wishlist while surfing the web.

As with any site, there’s a lot of features planned for addition later. For example, where it can, the bookmarklet auto-completes the form to add the product to your wish list. At other sites you have to complete the form yourself, but every day I’m adding more stores to the list of those where auto-complete works.

At this stage, however, we need feedback on what’s good and bad about the site. It’s just in time for the Christmas present wish list so if you could try it out and give some feedback that would be great. You can feedback through the comments form below of use the contact page on One Wish List. And if you want to see a sample wish list, here’s mine. Thanks everyone.
