Comment Policy
It’s my belief that comments should enhance the article you are commenting on. To that end, this is my policy for comments on this site.
- Comments that are spam will be removed.
- Comments that are rude or insulting to other commenters will be removed.
- Comments that thank me for a helpful post will be read by me, treasured and then removed. I like reading such comments but they add nothing for other readers of the site.
- Comments that notify me of spelling or other trivial errors will be acted on then removed.
- Comments that don’t relate to the article they are attached to will be removed.
On the other hand
- Comments that enhance the article they are attached to, for example by elaborating on a point, presenting a counterargument to a point, or indicating a significant error in the article will be retained. This applies whether I agree with the comment or not.
I hope that’s clear.
